About
Lung Foundation Australia is working with the Australian Living Evidence Collaboration to update the COPD Guidelines.
This includes expanding the membership of the COPD-X Committee, constituting a Steering Committee of endorsing organisations, expanding lived experience involvement in the development of the guideline, and updating the methods of evidence surveillance and interpretation to international best standards.
To support this, we’ve temporarily paused our regular evidence surveillance cycle. This allows us to focus on:
- Enhancing the structure and evidence synthesis methods
- Exploring modular, flexible formats for guidance
- Understanding how clinicians’ access and apply COPD-X in practice
This is part of a long-term vision to ensure COPD-X remains responsive, practical, and useful for clinicians across all settings.
Updates to the guideline will be communicated here as they are completed – starting with recommendations related to Biologics in late 2026. In the meantime access to V2.78 (Dec 2025) of the COPD Guidelines will be continued.
